The ancient Carthaginian, Greeks and Romans called Alicante "The White Fortress", City of great tourist attractive, Alicante is tremendously beautiful, with wide streets and gardens, where the modern mixes in with the ancient. Alicante has currently over 250,000 inhabitants.
After Valencia, it is the second most populated city in the Comunidad Valenciana. Alicante is a tourist city visited by millions of people every year; tourism is one of the basic pillars of its economy. Walks on the beach, hiking, car routes, etc, it is all possible in Alicante .
Its excellent weather makes tourism accessible most of the year, in the interior of the province as well as on the coast.
Alicante is a city that is very well connected and also offers all type of services. This is in some way due to its strong industrial and business tradition, which is reflected on the many business fairs that take place throughout the year. But the beauty of Alicante comes from the sea. From the south, going toward the island of Tabarca, with an abundance of XVIII century archeological ruins, unique sea depths, and very well connected from the capital ´s port. From the north, the Albufereta and San Juan beaches, after turning on the Huertas Cape, that in the summer holds the meeting points, drink parlors, discotheques, etc, and in the winter, in a more student oriented environment, saves the beach of Postiguet and the old city.
This is also next to the sea, in the middle of the Explanada way, where the music lover will be able to listen to concerts every winter Sunday in the morning and in the afternoon during the summer.
