Los restos arqueológicos del pretalayótico (2000-1500 a.C.) son muy abundantes en Pollença A partir del 1300 a. C. el pretalayótico comienza a ser substituido en toda
Mallorca por la cultura de los talayots. En Pollença hay numerosos ejemplos del
monumento más representativo de esta época, el talayot: los del Puig
d'Albeguins, del Molí de vent (Almadrava).
El 1229 el ejército de Jaume I incorpor&ocute; la isla al mundo cristiano. Alrededor de esta fecha es cuando nace la villa de
Pollença.
