Plaza Virgen de la Peña is home to one of the most beloved symbols in Mijas. This bronze statue of a donkey is the emblem of the plaza and pays homage to one of the town’s most beloved animals.  

 

  • El Paseo de la Muralla

This is something you cannot miss.This journey will take you over the precipice of the rock that the town is sat on, and you will find a number of viewpoints and balconies that offer the most spectacular views of the whole of Mijas.  

 

  • The Ermita del Calvario

If you weren’t satisfied by the previous walk, you can keep climbing to reach the highest point of the town, where you can enjoy some more views that are just as incredible, and also experience all of the relaxation and peace that the Carmelite Monks were looking for when they founded the Ermita del Calvario and made it into a meditation retreat.
